Honey Blondies

Makes 16 squares.

  • 1 cup honey
  • ¾ cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped toasted pecans
  1. In a medium bowl, cream honey and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  2. Add flour and baking powder; mix until combined. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
  3. Spread batter into a greased 9x9-inch square baking dish. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.
  4. Allow to cool completely. Cut into squares.
